An old abandoned factory with a large industrial warehouse. An orange strip, glued to the floor, splits the area in half. On the right, a sculpture atelier; on the left, a dance studio. The factory also includes a small living area for the two resident artists. The division of this space is the driving force behind Pendular’s narrative.
Initially, the two characters get along fine but, as the narrative advances, their pasts rise to the surface, giving them no other choice but to face it.

Axel is a ten year-old who lives with his mother, Margarita, and his three twenty-something sisters in a flat in Montserrat, a once aristocratic Buenos Aires neighborhood, now in decadence.
Margarita requests to be locked up in her bedroom as part of a homemade treatment by which she hands her daughters the control over the keys in order to preserve herself from her lack of willpower.
Axel and his sisters will play the part of jailers of their own mother in this odd self-preservation agreement. This will be the arrangement between them until Margarita attempts to break it.
Axel will then have to decide which of the contradictory orders his mother gives he should follow.

The theater of disappearance is a trilogy that attempts to depict a current state of latent war that seems to be throbbing underneath the entire human landscape, with its multiple environments and specific conditions of existence. From Mexico City to Beirut, from Shanghai to Kabul, from New York to Jerusalem, going through Qatar, Paris, Palestine, Yangji-ri or Athens, Villar Rojas tries to take samples of these ominous signs out of small actions, daily gestures and silent corners of a planet that seems to be moving—slower or faster, more obviously or imperceptibly, always depending on where we are standing, what day and even at what time—toward its virtual disappearance, at least as we know it today.

Or am I going after my own footsteps, after my own heritage? So I travel to Chaco, to Cuba, seeking for a missing film. I also dig into film archives looking for moving corpses that could return to me something that was gone too early. What am I looking for? I search for movies, also for a family - of living and of dead. I seek a revolution, as well as some justice. I look for my missing mother and father, their remaining bones, their names, what they left on me. I realise I am making a western with my own life. I seek a voice, my own voice, through the noise and rage of those lives shattered by that same bourgeois justice that was looking for Isidro Velázquez.
